Julie Rose Clapton (b. 2001, Columbus, Ohio) is a fiber artist based in Western Massachusetts.  After studying Textiles at the Rhode Island School of Design, she went on to complete a residency with the Textile Arts Center in New York. Her work has been featured in various publications such as Selvedge and Harvard Magazine. 

Her practice is grounded in care through material processes. She works in the realms of weaving, knitting, papermaking, performance and painting. Her work focuses on reciprocity, by sourcing and working alongside the community and individual farmers. She revisits traditional modes of fiber production to enhance communication lines between farmer and artist. Intertwining narratives while also recalling pagan rituals and stories that have historically encapsulated these symbiotic relationships.
