Julie Rose Clapton (b. 2001, Columbus, Ohio) is an artist based in New York City. She received her B.F.A. in Textiles from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2023.

Her practice is grounded in care through material processes. She works in the realms of weaving, knitting, papermaking, performance and painting. Her work focuses on reciprocity, by sourcing and working alongside the community and individual farmers. She revisits traditional modes of fiber production to enhance communication lines between farmer and artist. Intertwining narratives while also recalling pagan rituals and stories that have historically encapsulated these symbiotic relationships.

Her group exhibitions include: The Shape of play, Textile Arts Center, (Brooklyn, NY). Field Work,The Red Eye Gallery (Providence, RI) The Space in Between, Gelman Gallery, (Providence, RI). Clapton has been an artist in residence at The Textile Art Center (Brooklyn, NY).

She is currently a resident of TAC air cycle 15 at Textile Art Center.
